The Athena Community

I have a receiver that automatically sets up the speakers and sub-woofer . The system senses the sub-woofer and it keeps telling me to turn it up . When it is at the maximum setting of 10 you can here a faint noise as the system is trying to set it up . Could it be possilbe the sub-woofer is blow.

Mine did the same thing yesterday.  For no reason it just wouldn't power on.  If I turn it all the way up to like 10 I can here a scratchy sound like the speaker is blown.  All my components and other speakers are fine.  Suck I have only had it for a little over a year and the thing weighs a ton so there goes any chance of sending it in my repair.  Let me know if you hear anything from Athena or any other fix.  I am going to call Athena today.

I did not have the power up problem but had the faint scratchy sound like a blown voice coil in the speaker.I was much dissapointed after replacing the speaker with no change.I have tested the volume dail so the problem must be in the amplifier or crossover circuitry.Anybody have answers for a fix?
