I have the 360, but I didnt realize that the PS3 would be offering DTS HD MA with some of their games.  That is awfully nice, all you have to do now is get the correct receiver/processor and your set.

I have a PS3 as of Christmas, and it works amazing. I haven't compared it to that of a dedicated BD player but to me the in game physics and video quality tips that of the 360 I have been using in the past. I am patiently waiting for the GT5 as well.

    Re: Who has a PS3?

    I highly recommend a Yamaha RX-V663, RX-V863, RX-V1800 OR RX-V3800.  I also recommend an Onkyo 605, 705, 805, 875 or 905 as well as a Denon 2308, 2808, 3808 or 4808.  Pioneer makes a few nice Elites and Marantz does too, but seriously, get the Yamaha 863.

     Here is why:

    • Digital ToP-ART (Total Purity Audio Reproduction Technology) incorporates high performance digital circuitry, high density cinema DSP circuitry and wide-bandwidth power amplifiers to deliver improved sound quality
    • Satellite radio-ready: SIRIUS or XM Radio subscription, tuner and antenna (not included) are required
    • Multiple surround sound decoders built in.
    • 980W total power @ 8 ohms; 735W RMS power: 105W x 7 @ 8 ohms, 0.06% THD
    • Surround sound decoders include Dolby Digital, Digital EX, Pro Logic IIx; DTS, DTS-ES, DTS-ES Discrete and Matrix 6.1, Neo:6 and 96/24; Neural Surround
    • Fine-tuned CINEMA DSP and Adaptive DSP level settings ensure that quiet moments sound as clear as loud with minimal distortion at either end
    • Wide-range frequency response (10Hz - 100kHz) supports Super Audio CD (SACD) for amazingly detailed sound that wraps itself around you
    • Video upconversion automatically converts composite video or S-video signals to a video signal up to 1080p for hookup to your compatible HDTV
    • HD Radio tuner offers crystal-clear soud via existing AM/FM bands along with program data
    • Enhanced YPAO (Yamaha Parametric Room Acoustic Optimizer) automatically optimizes receiver output to optimum sound for the room acoustics, checking and adjusting for speaker connections, distances, size, frequency response and sound pressure level
    • Night Listening Enhancer offers cinema and music modes, ensuring you won't miss quiet dialog or lose surround spaciousness during low-volume listening; Silent Cinema mode lets you enjoy multichannel audio and video sound through headphones
    • Optional Apple® iPod® universal dock (not included) lets you connect your iPod, iPod mini or iPod nano to the receiver
    • Bluetooth wireless audio receiver (YBA-10, not included) docks to the receiver and allows wireless connections to Bluetooth-enabled components
    • Compressed music enhancer utilizes digital signal processing to improve playback of compressed music formats
    • Subwoofer crossover offers a choice of 9 subwoofer crossover frequencies; phase switching lets you customize efficiency and performance for the best bass response
    • AM/FM tuner with 40 station presets
    • Multizone capability reproduces separate input sources in the main room and second room (zone 2); power amplifier assignability and speaker terminals allow for independent operation of zone 2
    • High-performance 192kHz/24-bit digital-to-analog conversion for all channels
    • Inputs: 3 HDMI, 4 optical digital audio, 2 coaxial digital audio, 5 S-video, 5 analog A/V, 3 analog audio and 3 component video
    • Outputs: 1 HDMI, 2 analog A/V, 1 analog audio, 1 optical digital audio, 2 S-video, 1 component video monitor, 1 S-video monitor and 1 composite monitor
    • 4 SCENE modes for DVD viewing, disc listening, TV viewing and radio listening simplify operation by activating several operations with 1 button; other settings include iPod listening, XM listening, TV sports listening and action game playing
    • Preset remote included; on-screen display for easy navigation

    Re: Who has a PS3?

For nei've always been a big fan of Yamaha AVR's.  But I am still waiting out on a blu-ray players,

     1. to get a pre/pro that will handle those new audio formats

     2. hopefully the next generation players are a bit faster for power on and loading discs.

Other than the new formats that the 863 and up have, it would be a downgrade for my setup.  So I am still just going to wait for those damn motorola cirrus chips to release than I might pick up a new pre/pro, and blu-ray player.
